For
many years Jim Aylesworth taught in first grade classrooms in
Illinois. His writing career began with stories he wrote and read
to his students. He earrned many honors as a teacher but
eventually decided to become a full-time writer and to share his
enthusiasm for reading, writing, and being a life-long learner by
visiting schools across the United States (and overseas).
His
sons and grandchild, along with extended family enjoys time on a
family-owned century farm in Indiana. Jim and his wife, Donna, reside
in
Chicago near Lake Michigan.

Jim Aylesworth is a
gifted teacher and a successful author; just the right person to
provide a memorable and exciting school visit.
Jim is also available for reading and writing conferences, seminars, parent meetings and so forth.

Jim Aylesworth is the author of such favorites as: Old Black Fly, Tricky Fox, and several retellings of nursery tales including The Three Bears, The Gingerbread Man, and many other titles.
