Tanya Lee Stone has worked in publishing for more than thirteen years
and has written nearly 70 books for young readers. Her books include
biographies, books of American history, and books about animals,
science, and nature. There are books about scientists and even a visit
to a teddy bear factory. When she visits schools she is able to inspire
writers (and readers) to learn more about topics they are interested
in.
At this time Tanya prefers visiting
schools/libraries that are in the Northeast region of the United States
but will occasionally consider other venues such as author-in
residencies. To "see" an author visit in person visit the Orchard School site where student reporters wrote about her February 2006 visit to their school. The Orchard School home page begins this visit but it may be moved later.
Tanya is also available for reading and writing conferences, seminars, parent meetings and so forth.
You can find out more about Tanya and her
