Davis grew up on a farm in Iowa. Her first young adult
novel, Jake Riley: Irreparably Damaged, was published in 2003
by HarperCollins. She received an MFA from Minnesota State University,
Mankato, where she now teaches creative writing and literature. Besides
writing, she enjoys walking her dogs and bicycling. She is currently at
work on another YA novel titled AlleyCat.
